Plumber

Department: IT Landes Home Service Team
Location: Harleysville, PA

POSITION SUMMARY: Plumber

The Plumber works with the entire Home Service Team to maintain a 5-star experience for co-workers and customers through the plumbing maintenance and sales process. Plumbers work directly with customers to provide and explain all the information necessary for them to make an informed decision regarding their plumbing needs. This position will diagnose and repair plumbing and drain related issues within residential homes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose and unclog outside sewer lines, drain lines, toilets, sinks, showers/tub, using snakes, jetters and cameras.
  • Ability to locate underground sewer lines using camera and locator.
  • Work with customers to provide solutions to their most challenging plumbing issues.
  • Identify the cause, determine solutions, provide quotes, and close the sale.
  • Develop additional business opportunities by performing basic Gold Shield inspections and providing proper maintenance and upgrade recommendations to our customers.
  • Know and continually learn the products and services we offer our Home Service customers
  • Explain all necessary information to clients to assist them in make an informed decision regarding their Plumbing needs
  • Complete plumbing repairs and or installations
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions, and explaining repairs or maintenance recommendations to customers.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, including time spent, materials used, and any issues encountered.
  • Always follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform work within OSHA guidelines.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development
  • Promote and follow building, job site and department procedures and policies
  • Abide by the Home Service Team guidelines as set forth in the Company Handbook
  • Maintain clean organized and mechanically sound company provided service vehicle
  • Obey Department Uniform and Appearance Policy
  • Operate a company vehicle to run installation jobs for customer needs
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Previous plumbing field experience required.
  • Proficiency with plumbing tools, equipment and materials.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Previous selling in-home services is strongly desired
  • The ability to remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication is essential
  • Must possess current, valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Certifications, licensing in plumbing or septic a plus, not required
  • Must be able to work in a safe manner
